Ahhh, I have to pop in here to say I love how protective Not-Genkai’s stance is over Yusuke. I just love their relationship so much and she really cares for him and you can totally tell she didn’t mean to come to care about this little brat that gets on her last nerve, but she does, and it’s just so great.
And in not gushing about everyone’s relationships with each other news (BUT LOOK AT HOW SHE PLACES HER HAND ON HIS ARM IN BOTH OF THESE CAPS JUST LOOK AT IT), Not-Genkai has stopped Yusuke from firing his spirit gun at the trio.
And it kind of looks like she waited until his energy had increased to a place where it would not benefit him anymore before she stepped in. She let him become emotionally charged, right at the brink of killing these guys, and then wouldn’t let him go through with it.
And it seems like a perfectly Genkai thing to do, always thinking about how to help Yusuke increase and hone his powers. But she let him get to a pretty dark place to do it. Again, I don’t think that Genkai is afraid of letting him do that, either, but she seems almost regretful in these poses. It’s the first sign of gentleness towards him I can really recall from her, and I wonder if that hand is not just stopping him—but perhaps apologizing? Or providing some emotional support? It seems very strange, but it’s also very lovely and gives me a lot of Genkai and Yusuke feelings.
Yes, kill me to avoid your problems. It’s time you bit the bullet and started caring about something with all your heart and energy, but you can’t care about it if you’re always holding yourself back in case it doesn’t work out.
hiei you fucking show off
